New Orleans
New Orleans is a sacred place. I felt strength and culture like never before. I embraced the history as an African American and was amazed by the perseverance of the people. The food felt like home, the beignets were a breakfast, lunch, dinner staple, and most importantly the people were kind, beautiful, and gracious.

Detroit
Half of my family call Detroit home and I see why. We made the city and thrive in it. I felt Motown on every block as a whisper and at times as a full out chorus. I’m still at the spades table with my newly introduced cousins and praying for the elders. Detroit, Thank you. I’ll see you soon.
